I'm thinking of visiting Long Beach Ca this year in October/November. But I was wondering what it's actually like there at this time of year. Anyone familiar with the place?
Yanks?

Ringo, it's nice - you might have the odd day of rain, which will seem almost tropical, but it should be clear, sunny skies and around the high 60's - it's closer to sea (obviously, what with it being a beach and all) than where we are (down in the valley) so it can get a little over cast in the morning with the sea mist, and can get a little cooler because there is actually some movement of air down there.

Actually, I got the venue wrong, as the thing I want to go and see is actually at Irwindale on the 16th of October. I'm going to see if I can talk Reema into going early enough to catch a proper stockcar race as well because that would just be awesome.

Do you think you'll still be with her in October? No offense, but you change girlfriends like other people change socks...

Look Ralph, just because you're so poor you only change your socks every few years, doesn't mean I don't have a healthy and strong relationship with my girlfriend

Just checking. You have to admit there have been a lot of women over the years...

Well what can I say. I'm the ladies' favourite.
No, I had a fair few casual partners over the years, when I was younger. These days though I'll only get involved with someone I can see myself having a future with.
Anyway, Irwindale...

You're all grown up.
Never been to that part of California. Sorry.

Ringo, keep us in mind as you plan your travels. We'll be living in that part of the world by then (near Irvine). What's happening in Irwindale?

Irwindale - it will be hot - inland. Near Pasadena, which is nice, but not much else.

are you in California now?

Well I think there's a proper stock car race at Irwindale on the 10th as well which I'd like to see. I guess there's lots of stuff in california to do even if it's not right next to Irwindale. I think Reema would like to see the cool stuff in LA.
But so long as the weather is good I think it'll be a fun time.

We are but only for a bit longer. Moving to Orange County in late August. Apparently there's a TV show about it, which I've been using as the cornerstone of all my pre-relocation research.

Oh, nice!
My experiences of Orange County are = busy freeways, disney land, posh kids with big cars driving badly, and some nice beaches.
