I mean I have seen pictures of the Stig-like character but I never saw him. And knowing you oh-so-tricky swines I still have doubts.

I imagine him as a high-flying executive director of a small PR firm but with a love of Japes. Benway met him in an alley to do something elicit and whilst mingling a plan was formed. It's been going on for years yet half of us (or maybe just me) are still duped.

Surely no one is that rapey?

I met him at a couple of meets but I still believe that he was a character created by someone rather than being an actual real life person with those beliefs.

Fairly certain he was genuine, met him several times and he was either one hell of an actor or genuinely as odd as he seemed...

I did see some photos of him at a Handbag meet over a decade ago. Apparently he was very real. No clue where he is now though, thankfully.

I might have seen Steelgate outside Leicester Square tube a few years ago. At least it looked like him.

He is real. He was just genuinely good at sounding like a parody of himself. In person, he was fine, if just a little as straight down the line as he was on here. He did, however smell like a homeless person so I tried one time to chat to him but it was the summer, so awkwardness PLUS extreme body odor made me stop. He seemed harmless enough.

I think I just saw Steely on the news. Older, greyer, but suitably grubby. It was a report from Caracas.

He must be Corbyn's point man in Venezuela.
